DSCF2132It’s only a couple of hours until we leave the house for the airport. Bags are all packed and now we’re just passing the time till we call a cab.

On the news there’s a seige at Eastlakes – hopefully that won’t hold up the traffic too much around the airport.

Excitment and nervousness growing!

Yesterday was my last day at work before the trip. So much to get finished or organised before leaving! I hope I got everything sorted. If not, well… as long as they don’t destroy the place while I’m gone 😉

After work went for a couple of drinks with Shaun, Mandy, Phil and Karyn. Thanks guys and girls, it was fun and a nice way to end the last day of work.

Today: final shopping, cleaning, washing and packing.

Today is my last day at work before my hols.  So excited, nervous and what the fuck have I forgotten to do before I go!

I’m sure everything will be fine while I’m away.  Should get around to packing in the next couple of days I suppose.  Oh well, must finish this test plan, write my handover notes and show Kathleen how to do something again!

And then its two weeks to go Sunday, 17 May 2009

Last night marked the last of the big milestones before we leave for our fabulous holiday.  We gave Marina the book of our trip.  She will be our local document holder while we’re away.  It was a fun evening going through our trip in detail and then laughing the night away.

So now the real practical things take over: do we need to buy anymore underwear, how many and what type of power adapters do we need, that sort of thing.

Till next time, happy travels

Well its four weeks tomorrow until we leave on our next epic holiday.  Two years in planning and not without its problems along the way but now it is very close.

Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Paris and London in five weeks – what a trip.  So this is just a short entry to say I’ll be writing on here regularly before and during our trip.

Happy Landings
