Stella with MGDSo now I’m in Huntingdon Valley PA (in Philadelphia) visiting my Australian friend Stella. She’s on a posting over here for three years, so I haven’t seen here since she made a trip back to Sydney several months ago.

Lots of fun to catch up with her. We’re having a few drinks and laughs and called a couple of friends back home in Sydney, the first of which at about 5.40 am Sunday local time. He he he :-).

After a final meet up with Norma (Australia) this morning at Ben Ash I caught the train from Penn Station to Trenton NJ. Penn Station was a little overwhelming if you’re not used to it. Platforms aren’t announced until 10 minutes or so before the train is due. Slightly stressful when you don’t know what to expect. I asked the Customer Service attendent where to go, he told me to watch the departures board. But it was no drama in the end, and the train trip through the wilds of New Jersey was pleasant and uneventful.

Tonight we’re going to a party. Sounds like a fun way to spend my last night in America before returning home tomorrow. I can’t believe that the trip is almost over already. It’s been an amazing time.

Times SquareAfter an action packed, event filled and stupendously fun week my time in New York is coming to an end.

Tonight met up with friends Ron (New Jersey), Gareth (Wales) and Peter (Ireland) for dinner at Redeye Grill, across from Carnegie Hall.

After dinner I went for a walk down 7th Avenue to Times Square to experience all those lights one more time. Stopped off a couple of times for a beer and to soak in a little more New York atmosphere.

Tomorrow I’m off to Philadelphia to visit my friend Stella from Australia, who is there for three years.

Kristina fans you have to watch this. Thanks Peter for posting that.
